November is upon us and we have gotten a few early snowfalls and the temperatures have been a little crisp, especially for my beautiful bride who has yet to acclimate to this northern climate.
Despite that she had a great deal of fun shovelling snow as it has been a while… she is originally from Michigan so snow is not something new.
-18 C will come as bit of a greater shock methinks.
With winter one must also look at transportation and we will endeavour to cycle as much as possible and to that end I have fitted D’s Breezer with a studded front tyre (a rear will follow) and equipped my Raleigh 20 with my 20 inch Marathon winter tyres which make it stick like velcro on ice.
Forgive the crappy cellphone picture…
I still have the Extrabike and Pugsley which will get to see a lot of what winter has to offer, running studded tyres on the 20 means that our daughters could also ride and picked up a very nice BRC hybrid for those days when it is wetter and warmer and you don’t want / need studded tyres.
It is a 25 year old bicycle that is in nearly new condition…
