At RBF Cycles we aim to provide professional and affordable services to the local cycling community, we offer a sliding scale of fees for those who cannot afford higher rates and also offer a friends and family discount.
We will only bill for the work that is required and as such do not have a fixed rate for tune ups or regular service.
All services are carried out by a professionally certified mechanic (and raving bike fiend).
Minor tune ups start at $45.00.
Wheel building starts at $35.00 for labour (does not include parts), our wheels come with a lifetime warranty.
Wheel service starts at $15.00.
Frame repairs and refits of existing bikes will be billed at a shop rate of $45.00 / hr and an estimate will be provided prior to commencement of the work.
Frame building services are available.
RBF Cycles also offers mobile service and can work on site or pick up and return bicycles; the mobile service fee will be based on the travel time / mileage required and the normal shop rates will apply for any work done on or off site.

RBF Cycles has enjoyed a long and enjoyable partnership with Arvon Cycles and as all things have a time, we would like to announce that as of January 18th, 2015, Arvon Stacey has decided to officially retire. We would like to wish him the best in his retirement and we’ll be staying in touch.
In closing down operations there will be some good deals on parts and bicycles while we will be taking over the frame-building and repair end of things under our own name.
Arvon Stacey has been cycling since he was a teenager and in the 50’s raced against some of the world’s best, he helped found the Alberta Randonneuring Club, and is an accomplished long distance cyclist and tourer who estimates that he has ridden over 500,000 miles in his lifetime.
He is also an accomplished photographer, master machinist, and built custom made bicycles, hubs, racks, and other bicycle parts for over 30 years.
Arvon Cycles specialized in custom made steel tandems and long-tail touring bicycles like the World Tourist (below) and believe Arvon originated, and was building long tail designs long before anyone else.
Another service we offer is custom repairs and modifications to existing bicycles, this is a Nishiki Continental with a custom rack, new bottle braze ons, low rider mounts and was re-finished in our shop as we also do our own powder coating on site. The wheels were also built in our shop.
Arvon Cycles may be as famous for it’s custom racks as anything else; RBF Cycles will continue to build these on a custom order basis.
