Potential buyers must come and view and test ride the bicycles in person and I will only entertain offers on bicycles from local purchasers unless we have a positive prior relationship.
All of the mechanical work and wheel building has been done by myself unless otherwise noted, newly built wheels come with a limited lifetime guarantee just as if you had ordered a custom wheelset.
I will ship parts at the real cost of postage / insurance to any location but do note that overseas shipping can be very expensive.
Contact me at: firstname.lastname@example.org to get quotes on tune ups and repairs, custom wheel building, and custom frame and rack work.
Bicycles For Sale
2006 Trek 520 Touring Bicycle – consignment
Size: 19 inch / 48cm
This is a beautiful handbuilt Trek touring bicycle that has seen very few miles (<1000) and has been meticulously maintained, the stock wheels were recalled by Trek and new wheels were installed in 2010 and these have seen even less miles than the bicycle. The crank was upgraded to an LX at the point of purchase and the cassette was upgraded to a wide range SRAM 11-34 (9 speed). New Continental tyres have also been installed.
The Trek 520 is considered to be one of the nicest touring bicycles made but would also serve one well as a daily rider / commuter as it has a very nice and lively ride feel when it is unloaded.
Trek only produces the 520 in small numbers and as such they can be a harder bicycle to find and this smaller frame would be suitable for smaller riders (five foot two and eyes of blue?)… short of buying one new you would be hard pressed to find a bicycle like this in nicer condition.
The current replacement cost of the bicycles is 1600.00 Cdn
Surly Pugsley, size L frame (20 inch)
Price $1000.00 Offer Pending
Selling my 2006 Pugsley which includes; custom built Portage rack ($275.00), it has Ritchey drop bars with Tektro cross and linear pull levers, White Industries freehub in rear, ACS freehub up front (another White freehub is available). Comes with 2 spare tubes and frame bag and does not include the pump, lights, or pedals. I had this bike set up with an Easton stem and flat bars and if you prefer these the swap is not that difficult to do and will be done at no charge as a straight exchange.
Bar end shifters are set up to run the 3 by 1 drive and right shifter is in place in the event one opts to run a geared wheel in the rear… I have found the 3 by 1 to be a rather effective drive for nearly every kind of riding which has included sand, snow, and riding through a few feet of water in lakes and rivers.
The Avid BB7 brakes also come with the full length aluminium housings to prevent damage from impacts / snags.
The rack comes with a lifetime warranty, details are here.
1976 Peugeot AO8 – Fixed Gear Conversion
You could own one of the nicest “beaters” around… I recently built new fixed wheels using Formula hubs, stainless spokes and vintage Weinmann rims which lightens this bike to 26 pounds with the rack and fenders. Tyres are new old stock 27 by 1 Panaracers which are fast, smooth, and in my experience very long lasting. I have an extra set of these tyres available.
Would make a great city bike and with fenders it is ready for any kind of weather, it has been fitted with a rear wheel lock to prevent theft so all you need to do is lock up the front wheel and frame.
Not included (but shown) are the lights, pump, and tailbag…. it is currently fitted with SPD pedals and if you would rather have clips and straps I may be able to provide a nice set of these.
